About

Hello Reef Make & Do members,

I have been playing this morning with trying to work out how to better use this members area to help grow our gorgeous community of makers.

I think it would be a great way to start by all filling in some basic details in your members profile. Please note that the members area is 100% private and only other members can see your profile.

You can set your profile to private if you wish. However, as well as allowing you to collect loyalty points, the idea of the members area is to connect with other makers, chat and maybe even make plans, with people you meet at a workshop, ask questions of other makers about a workshop you are keen to try, ask questions to the artists and teachers about equipment or tips or when their next workshop is coming up.

I am also thinking that it would be good once we get things up and running to be able to start a blog of all things making so I can tell not just what Ive been up to but also what the artists and teachers are up to, events they are running, have guest bloggers....

The options are endless!

If you have any other ideas I'd love to hear them.

Why not add some details and see if we can start growing a makers community.

ree

With warmest wishes

Rachael

What Children Know About Creativity That Adults Forget: Reef Make & Do Norfolk
Bold and brave painters at Reef Make & Do Art Camp this half term Art and craft workshops in Norfolk are often filled with people who tell me exactly the same thing when they arrive: "I am not very arty." This week, during the first ever Reef Make & Do Children's Art Club, I was reminded just how differently children approach creativity and how much we adults could learn from them. Over the course of four joyful days, children aged 7 to 13 spent their time painting, drawing, building,...

How the Changing Light in Norfolk can Spark Creativity: Creative Workshops Norfolk
Creative workshops in Norfolk are a lovely way to turn everyday inspiration into something real, especially at this time of year when the light changes, the days lengthen, and North Norfolk seems to ask us all to look a little more closely. There is a particular kind of light that arrives about this time of year. Not full summer yet, but something close to it. A brightness in the evenings. A softness in the mornings. The sort of light that makes you notice things again. The edges of leaves....

You Really Do Not Need to Be Good at It: Creative Workshops Norfolk
Getting out of our comfort zone in a exploratory and freeing mixed media workshop with artist Ros Copping Creative workshops in Norfolk are not about being perfect; they are about curiosity, play, experimentation, and giving yourself permission to make something without needing to know exactly where it is going. I spent yesterday covered in inks, glue, acrylic paint, scraps of paper, and it was absolutely wonderful. I was taking part in a mixed media workshop with the fabulous Ros Copping,...
