Workshop Details

Date: Thursday 2nd May Time: 10am-4pm Cost: £125 Venue: Stonegate, Egmere Road, Walsingham. As always at Reef Make & Do, refreshments as well as delicious homemade cake and two course lunch are included in your workshop day. Come and join me for another lovely, mindful day of willow weaving with local basket maker Karen Bek. You will learn a variety of different basketry techniques to make an obelisk that can be used to support sweet peas, beans or peas or simply used as a structural focal point in the garden. You will learn how to weave around strong willow uprights using a range of different willows to create attractive basket weave patterns or a spiral effect that will support and showcase your plants. Karen is great fun and patient as well as hugely patient and she will guide you through all the steps so that you go home with a fantastic obelisk. The obelisks can be made to heights between 4 and 6 feet high. You do not need to bring anything with you as all materials will be provided, however, if you have a trusty, much loved pair of secateurs then do bring them if you would like.
