WEAVING WITH BARK

Join willow artist Karen Bek in North Norfolk for a rare and deeply satisfying basketry workshop exploring bark, willow, and plant fibres gathered from the natural landscape. This workshop offers the chance to slow down and work directly with raw materials, learning how they are prepared and transformed into something both useful and beautiful.

During the day, you will learn how to gather, store, and process willow bark and other plant fibres, including stripping and cutting the bark ready for weaving. Karen will guide you through working with different colours, textures, and thicknesses, showing how each material behaves and how to use this to your advantage.

You will make one square woven container, learning traditional techniques while developing confidence in handling the materials.
