Date: Thursday 16th March Time: 10am-3pm Cost: £80 As always, there will be refreshments, cake and a delicious homemade lunch included in the day. About The Nootka Sea Glass Workshop @ Reef House You will learn how to design two sea glass pendants to take home. Full instruction will be given in to selecting sea glass, locations, how to prepare sea glass for making jewellery, how to drill sea glass, and how to magically transform your pendant design from paper to pendant. Sea glass pieces, a huge variety of beads to work with and all materials included. About Niki I’m Yorkshire born, but it was in Norfolk that I first discovered my passion for sea glass; 45 years ago. I became captivated at these vibrant pieces of coloured glass laying among the pebbles and flint. I was told that they were treasures left especially for me by the mermaids because they’re also known as ‘mermaid’s tears’. My beach treasure journey with the mermaids had begun, along with my love for all things sea shore related. Sea glass is sadly becoming a rarity on the Norfolk shores due to the sand-banking processes that stop coastal erosion - so it’s a jolly good job I have a 45 years sea glass collection to create my jewellery designs from! I’m a clinical Herbalist, Psychologist & Therapist but I also create individual jewellery designs through my business; Nootka Seaglass. All sea glass pieces and other shoreline treasures are hand collected by myself over the past 45 years, from UK beaches only. Each piece of sea glass that goes to form Nootka Seaglass jewellery is then cleaned, cleansed, smoothed by a grinding process, polished, buffed and finally made into jewellery. Nootka sea glass jewellery is much more than a hobby, for me, being surrounded by sea glass is an important part of my life. Nootka - Treasures From The Sea.
