Workshop Details

Date: Wednesday 11th October Time: 11am - 3pm Cost: £80 As always at Reef House, refreshments as well as delicious homemade cake and lunch are included in your workshop day. Come and join me and renowned bread maker Susan Hudson here at Reef House for a relaxing day making and eating a range of delicious Scandinavian Breads. Create your own Hygge, this Scandinavian word is used to describe a feeling of wellbeing, and Fika which represents a calm moment with coffee and baked goods. We will also be milling some of our own flours with Sue's Mock Mill - a table top mixture mill. The workshops are suitable for novice bakers as well as those wishing to brush up on their skills, fill their bread bins and enjoy a few hours of creative fun! During the day we will be making some comfort breads to keep us going, pair with dips, chunky soup or cheese for a perfect lunch: * Dipping bread sticks with rosemary, black and green olives and parmesan, made with freshly milled spelt flour * Traditional tea bread made with freshly milled YQ flour, perfect for toasting and topped with lashings of butter * A sandwich loaf made with home milled flour loaded with nutritious extras such as heritage seeds and heritage grains and coated with barley flakes The delicious smell and taste of hot loaves and baked bread goods plus learning a skill makes for a really enjoyable day. Susan will provide all the ingredients for the workshop. Please bring your own apron and a box or basket to take your loaves home in. Susan Hudson is a baker based in South Norfolk. She is passionate about beautiful, delicious bread made by hand with fresh ingredients. Having built up her bread making workshops over the past 12 years, your workshop will be relaxed and informal and you will make, shape and bake beautiful breads and rolls. Making bread is a rewarding and therapeutic skill Susan loves sharing with her students.
