Date: Friday 19th May Time: 10am-2pm Cost: £90 As always at Reef House, refreshments as well as delicious homemade cake and lunch are included in your workshop. I am super excited to invite you to join me at Reef House along with Anne Hickley for our first ever marbling workshop. Many of you that have been here before will know that I have been trying to source a local marling artist for some time: Yaay! Come and join us for a fun and imaginative day. At this wonderful workshop you will learn how to 'paint' on water using traditional marbling techniques that are centuries old, and some more modern ones too. This art form is about playing and experimenting and, as such, is open to anyone - even those of you who think you are not creative. During the day you will learn: *how to make thickened water on which you will float the paints *how to prepare the papers and paints for marbling *using various tools, such as combs, rakes and styluses, to create patterns *the do's and don'ts of marbling to create patterns you are happy with *how to create a variety of striking patterns and designs During this workshop you will create a collection of your own beautiful and unique marbled papers, each in your own tray. All the tools and materials will be provided by Anne on the day so no need to bring anything other than your imagination and an apron. It would also be a good idea if you don't wear anything new or best as things can get verrrrry messy! (If you already work with paper and would like to bring a selection of your own papers – different thicknesses, colours, fibres etc., – Anne can give you some advice on whether they’re suitable for marbling and how to prepare them, and you can have a play with those too – but this is not essential.) *Please note that the minimum number of guests for this workshop to go ahead is 4. If we do not get to this number then the workshop will sadly be cancelled . We will inform you of this in advance.
