This includes Sourdough Bread Workshops when she shares lots of her tips and methods that she has developed over the years. Sue believes that making bread is a fundamental skill beneficial to all, nurturing body and soul, for sharing with family and friends and enjoying the tactile and therapeutic effects along the way. Not only is Sourdough the best bread for you to eat, it also tastes great! This sourdough bread workshop is a first step in learning Sue’s methods of making sourdough and is aimed at all levels of ability, with plenty of time and refreshments along the way as well as demonstrations given by Sue so you see exactly how to handle the dough, shape, score and bake the sourdough for great results time and time again. MAKE SOURDOUGH WITH SUE HUDSON Whether a complete beginner or would like more sourdough experience, this class is suitable for you! Using Sue’s method of making sourdough, the workshop will be full of demos and tips to help you take an easy path to sourdough perfection. We will begin the day by starting the process of creating your own starter and Sue will give you lots of information to go home and continue this process. You will then use some starter supplied for the class to make your own batch of poppyseed rolls and create a beautiful sourdough loaf to take home in the banneton which will be supplied, to bake the following day at home. This will be done using the Dutch oven method sp you will need (or need access to) a 24cm round cast iron casserole dish with a lid. There will be Sue's sourdough focaccia to enjoy with our scrumptious homemade lunch and then we will later make sweet treats such as sourdough apple muffins and fennel and tomato sourdough rolls. All materials and ingredients for the day will be provided and included in the price of the workshops will be a banneton and liner and dough scraper which you get to keep. You may wish to bring your own apron, although Sue brings some. You will need to bring a selection of baskets, boxes and clean tea towels to transport your bakes home.
