Workshop Details

Date: Wednesday 22nd May Time: 10am - 3pm Cost: £80 Venue: Wiveton Village Hall As always at Reef House Make & Do, refreshments as well as delicious homemade cake and lunch are included in the workshop day. Come and join me for a colourful, creative morning learning about the magic of natural dyeing with indigo. We will go through the basic of an indigo dye vat and how the dye is made. We will then explore the Japanese art of Shibori and learn how to create a wide variety of beautiful patterns and designs on our natural fabrics which you will be able to easily recreate at home. After lunch we will also spend time up-cycling an old garment from your wardrobe or the charity shop, looking at the best designs and patterns to give it a new lease of life! You will be provided with a range of natural materials to practice pattern making on that you get to take home including a scarf. You should bring an old and maybe unloved piece of clothing to upclycle. This garment should be made of a natural material such as cotton, silk or bamboo and ideally be quite pale in colour. It should also be washed before arrival. PLEASE do not wear any new or best clothes or footwear - this workshop can get very messy and I would not want you to spoil anything as indigo does not wash out!
