Workshop Details

Date: Wednesday 8th - Friday 10th June Time: 10am-4pm Full cost of workshop: £330 pus £40 charge for materials Delicious homemade lunches included as well as cake/ drinks. Option for dinner out at local pub (at your own cost) on first night I am so excited to be able to invite you to this wonderful workshop where you can learn from world renowned textile artist Caroline Nixon and further your knowledge and skills in the beautiful art of eco printing. Over the course of three days, Caroline will share her wealth of experience with you. You will learn how to mordant cloth really effectively so that it takes and retains bright colours. You will work with a variety of natural dyes and tannins, first making samples to test the printing qualities of the local vegetation, then moving on to bigger projects of your choice. We will work with both protein and cellulose fibres. This workshop is suitable for both improvers and experienced printers, and teaching will be geared to your individual needs. * Please note: this booking is for the 50% DEPOSIT ONLY. One your deposit is paid you will be sent a link to pay Caroline the materials cost and she will send you the online materials. 6 weeks before the workshop you will be sent an invoice for the balance for the workshop. MATERIALS LIST • Online tutorials with dye and mordant recipes and instructions for making dyebaths . • Online tutorials on materials, including sourcing fabric and identifying fabric types • A sample pack of ready mordanted fabric so you can get started • An online tutorial on preserving leaves so that you can print all year round • A range of dyes and mordants to use during the workshop • A discount code for buying dyes mordants and fabrics from two excellent suppliers You will be sent link to pay for your materials separately. You will then receive a link with access to the online materials. LOCATION Blakeney is a idyllic picturesque coastal village on the coast in Norfolk UK. It is renowned for the marshes which boasts wealth of wildlife and the spit which is home to seal colonies. Reef House is 3 minutes walk from the quay and access to coastal path. ACCOMMODATION Accommodation is not included but you if you are travelling for the workshop then do email me and I can send you some suggestions for finding accommodation. You should do this ASAP as Blakeney is VERY popular and things get booked up!
