Join me in Norfolk for a half-day Christmas calligraphy workshop, where you’ll learn how to use modern brush lettering techniques to design and make your very own personalised Christmas crackers. This festive creative workshop is perfect for beginners or anyone looking to slow down, try something new, and make something beautiful for the Christmas table. Modern calligraphy is a wonderfully expressive and relaxed way to explore lettering, and brush pens make it even more fun! You’ll learn the key calligraphy rules – and how to break them – so you can create your own unique style with confidence. We’ll begin with the essentials: practising basic brush strokes and mark making, then moving on to upper and lowercase letters, festive words and phrases, and finally personalising names for your crackers. With plenty of demonstrations, individual tuition, and a warm, relaxed atmosphere, you’ll be gently guided through each step – and encouraged to enjoy the process as much as the final results. Once your lettering is complete, we’ll assemble the crackers using crisp white linen-textured card, add party crowns, snaps, sweet surprises and luxury scarlet satin ribbon to tie it all together. You’ll leave with two stunning hand-lettered crackers and everything you need to carry on creating at home.
