Join us for another fabulous book binding workshop with Helen Perry when we will be making beautiful books with a coptic binding. Date: Wednesday 4th June Times: 10am-4:30pm Cost: £150 Venue: Stonegate Farm, 12 Egmere Road, Walsingham. NR22 6BS Coptic Binding. The historic and beautiful 'coptic' binding is a very popular class. The binding allows the book to lie perfectly flat and also to open to 80 degrees, making it popular amongst other things as a journal, travel book or artist sketch book. Also, the exposed spine stitching has enormous visual appeal. During the day you will learn the importance of grain direction in bookbinding, how to prepare the pages for binding as well as decide on your own personal decorative style for board covering before getting to grips with the stitching. You will have a selection of beautiful papers to choose from for your covers and 120gsm Fabriano paper for your pages All equipment and materials will be provided along with step-by-step demonstration and practice. Suitable for beginners. As well as all the wonderful making your day will include a scrumptious homemade two course lunch as well as endless cake and refreshments, all of which will be catered to the needs of the the attendees so that everyone eats the same food.
